The second chapter in Laphroaig’s Ian Hunter Story Book. Matured for three decades in Spanish oak oloroso sherry casks. Typically peaty, the nose also offers notes of dates, figs, rich cigar smoke, liquorice and dark chocolate. The palate offers notes of orange peel. Manuka honey and smoked stone fruits, with waves of peat smoke in the background.

Detailed Description
This is the 2016 release of Laphroaig 30 Year Old. Distille in 1985. This has bee age exclusively in bourbon barrels. Classic Laphroaig with notes of orange peel, vanilla, coriander and cigar box.

Nose: So, mandarin and mango rise to the fore tempere by toaste almond and coconut. Aromatic peat oils are interwoven, appearing as cedar, wintergreen and smoke sage.
Palate: A superbly oily mouth feel with orange peel, vanilla and coriander leaf, in a cedar cigar box alongside wild root ginseng.
Finish: Long and complex with lingering pulpy stone fruit and chewy green hand-rolle tobacco.

Laphroaig distillery is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky distillery. But it is name for the area of land at the head of Loch Laphroaig on the south coast of the Isle of Islay.
