The Macallan Rare Cask Black is truly extraordinary unlike any other Macallan today. It is a Macallan with a surprisingly yet subtle distinctive smoky flavor. This unexpecte flavor still delivers the full body richness of the spirit’s DNA. From 100 percent sherry seasone European and American oak casks, of which most are first fill.

This whisky tells a different story of The Macallan spirit and casks, but more than that it tells a story of rarity. Less than 100 casks maturing at The Macallan distillery have contribute to the creation of this out of character whisky. These mysterious casks remain untouched. In the dark warehouses of The Macallan under the watchful eye of our Master Whisky Maker. until he felt they are ready to be release.

Intensity of flavor from a timeless thread of peat smoke. Rare Cask Black combines dried fruits, nutmeg, ginger and beautifully polish oak plus dates, figs and raisins, heavy but sweet. A dry smokiness reveals itself yielding to softer oak tones. The finish is long, fruity with an elegant wood smoke.
