The pursuit of perfection met its match when film mastermind Guillermo del Toro. A native Jaliscan, came to the Hacienda to bring his artistic approach to Patrón’s process. What came from this partnership was Patrón’s darkest product to date in both age and ideation. The signature bottle holds a perfect extra añejo tequila. Featuring a blend of age tequilas averaging 5 years in used oak barrels upside down. The bottle is crowne by a skull resting on top holding an aged deep orange liqueur. That perfectly complements the tequila’s symphony of dark flavors. This pairing of products reflects the pairing of film and tequila that came about through Patrón x Guillermo del Toro.

Great balance of whiskey and toffee aroma. The flavour starts heavy with scotch followed by hints of agave and toffee and a surprisingly smooth finish. This is an all around amazing tequila.

This is a collaboration between acclaimed film director and writer Guillermo del Toro and Patrón. This limited edition box set contains a 750ml sized bottle of extra añejo and a 100ml sized bottle of aged Patrón orange liqueur. The extra añejo tequila was aged an average of five years in a mix of use and new barrels. The packaging was designe by del Toro and when opene, the box can be transformed into an alter equipped with two candles. The two bottles themselves form a “fantastical winged creature” with the larger extra añejo bottle sitting upside down creating the “torso” while the smaller aged orange liqueur sits on top forming the “skull”.
